You will visit the canals and rivers of Tortuguero National Park , the Sarapiqui area with its great diversity of bird life, and Puerto Viejo that offers to the visitor abundant wildlife, pristine rain forests and miles of white, sand and coral beaches.
Day 01 (Arrival - San Jose)
Arrival. A representative from Costa Rican Trails will meet you at the airport and will provide private transfer to the Hotel Britannia in San Jose.
Overnight at Britannia Hotel, standard room. Breakfast is included.
Day 02 (San Jose - Tortuguero)
Early morning pick up for the drive through Braulio Carrillo National Park to the canals lining the Atlantic Coast, where the three-hour boat trip to Tortuguero starts. A typical breakfast is served on the way. Tortuguero
National Park preserves 21,000 hectares of tropical rain forest. The lodge will schedule boat trips into the jungle for wildlife observation with a local tour guide. (B/L/D)

Day 03 (Tortuguero)
During the day you will enjoy the boat tours along the canals of Tortuguero.

Day 04 (Tortuguero-Puerto Viejo)
Depart after breakfast for your return to the docks of Limón, an opportunity to recount your adventures in memory or on paper. At the dock, you will meet a representative from Adobe rent a car will deliver a Daithasu Terios 4x4. Drive to Puerto Viejo on the south Caribbean Coast.
Costa Rica’s South Caribbean Coast offers abundant wildlife, pristine rain forest and plenty of activities for the adventurous. The two charming villages of Puerto Viejo and Cahuita start to live on reggae rhythms at sunset with an authentic Afro-Caribbean atmosphere. Visitors will find lots to do in the zone, beginning with sunbathing and swimming along the miles of white, sand and coral beaches. Other popular activities include kayaking, surfing, hiking and horseback riding, tours to the nearby Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge or Cahuita National Park.

Day 06 (Puerto Viejo - Sueño Azul)
Drive on your own to the Sarapiqui area. Approximate driving time: 3 hrs.
On the banks of the Puerto Viejo River 42 miles north of San Jose and next to the Braulio Carrillo National Park, this place is known to be one of the richest areas for bird watching.
The diversity of lowlands bird life is impressive. A biological research station and several forest lodges nearby have made this undisturbed habitat accessible to scientists and many travelers. . Various tours are offered by
some of the lodges including canopy, horseback, hiking, birding tours, and rafting on the Sarapiqui River.

Day 07 (Sarapiqui River Adventure)
The next morning, after breakfast, depart for the Sarapiquí River boat trip.
A two-hour ride along calm waters that will give you the chance to witness the magnificent rainforest and its inhabitants, such as toucans, monkeys, sloths, crocodiles and many other species. A picnic lunch is included along the riverbanks.

Day 08 (San Jose - Departure)
Return to San Jose and drop off the car at the International airport.
